Cook 1 cup of basmati rice in 2 cups of water with cardamom, cloves,cinnamon and bay leaf in it.
Cook the rice with little turmeric powder and salt as required and keep it aside
Heat oil in a pan , splutter some mustard and dal .
Add on to it chopped onion, saute till it turn to light brown color.
Meanwhile add ginger,green chilli and curry leaves.
Once the raw smell is gone , add turmeric powder ,coriander powder and kashmiri chilli powder and cook well.
Then add chopped tomato, mix well , close the lid and cook till tomato becomes mushy.
Add cooked rice and mix well with the above combo.
Garnish with coriander leaves and curry leaves.
